Meet our Board and Strategic Advisors
Jane joined The Sirius Hotel Group in 2022 as Non-Executive Chair. She brings 25 years’ experience in hospitality and leisure to play a leading role in supporting the company’s continued growth and strategic development. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Board, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the executive team in defining and delivering the company’s long-term vision and objectives.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Jane began her career at KPMG. She has since held several key positions, including a 15-year tenure as Chief Financial Officer at Bourne Leisure, a £1bn turnover UK holiday business. She was then appointed Chief Executive Officer at Haven Holidays, where she led the brand during a period of significant transformation and growth.
In recent years, Jane has built a portfolio career with several Non-Executive and advisory roles. She is Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Safestore plc, Non-Executive Director at Oakman Inns & Restaurants, and a Member of Pilotlight. Jane also runs her own business consultancy.
Jane served on the Board of WiHTL (Women in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure) from its formation in 2016 until 2021. She continues to support the organisation and is a current judge for the 2025 Inclusion In Awards. She was named one of the Most Influential Women to Watch in the Industry at the inaugural WiHTL Awards. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Bristol and is ICAEW qualified.
David joined The Sirius Hotel Group in 2018 as Chief Executive Officer, bringing over 30 years’ experience to the role. He is pivotal in steering the company’s strategic direction, operational efficiency, and commercial success, as well as defining and implementing its long-term growth and development strategy.
During his tenure, David pioneered a rebrand of five Nadler Hotels, creating and launching The Resident brand in 2020. David has been responsible for spearheading the company’s expansion, with hotel openings for The Resident in Covent Garden and, most recently, Edinburgh, and is leading the development of The Resident Farringdon, planned for 2029. David also managed the acquisition of Sleeperz and Cityroomz in September 2022, as well as their subsequent successful transition to Marriott International’s Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand in 2025.
A seasoned hotel CEO and entrepreneur, David began his career in commercial property development and bank recovery. In 1995, he co-founded City Inn, later rebranded as Mint Hotels, which was sold to Blackstone in 2011. David then focused on individual projects through Urbanist Hotels, collaborating with investors and property owners in London and Edinburgh before joining Resident Hotels Ltd as CEO.
An avid supporter of culture and the arts, David has served on various boards and committees, including Glasgow Science Centre, Visit England, and the National Theatre of Scotland. He is also Chair of The Edgbaston Park Hotel. David holds a master’s degree in Land Management & Philosophy from the University of Reading and a degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Birmingham.
Ameesh joined The Sirius Hotel Group as Chief Financial Officer in 2023. He was responsible for leading the implementation of all aspects of the conversion to Four Points Flex by Sheraton and currently plays a key role in strategic decision-making to optimise the company’s financial performance.
He has significant finance experience, mostly in media, leisure, and entertainment. He has previously worked as Interim CFO at fitness group BLOK London and spent six years as Group Finance Director at Second Home, a co-working company. Ameesh holds an MBA in Business Administration and Management from Imperial College Business School. He is also CIMA, ACCA, and PRINCE2 qualified.
William joined The Sirius Hotel Group in November 2017 as Non-Executive Director. He is responsible for the company’s investment and development transactions, including origination, appraisals, structuring, capital raising, and execution across all strategies. William is also a Director and Board member of Mactaggart Heritable and sits on the Investment Committee of Mactaggart Family & Partners (MF&P) as Chief Executive Officer.
He is a real estate professional with significant experience executing buy and sell side transactions, capital raises (debt and equity) for development and investment, JV structuring and the establishment and execution of value recovery and divestment strategies. Prior to his position with MF&P, William was Vice President in a Real Estate Corporate Finance boutique focusing on residential and hospitality transactions in the UK and US. William has also worked at Ernst & Young in its UK Real Estate Corporate Finance team.
William holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Birmingham and an MSc in Real Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Financial Conduct Authority Approved Person, holding the Chartered Financial Analyst UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Jack joined The Sirius Hotel Group in September 2020 as Non-Executive Director. He brings eight years of industry experience, with a particular focus on property. His most recent roles include Director at Grove End Housing Limited, Director at Mactaggart Family & Partners, and Senior Surveyor at Farebrother. He is also a Trustee, and previous Chair, of Commonweal, an action learning charity working to investigate, test and share housing solutions to social injustice, and a Trustee of the Islay & Jura Community Enterprise Trust.
He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Financial Conduct Authority Approved Person, holding the Chartered Financial Analyst UK Investment Management Certificate. Jack holds a BSocSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading. He has completed Executive Education programmes with University of Oxford Saïd Business School and Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
John joined The Sirius Hotel Group as Non-Executive Director in 2016. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee and plays a leading role in making Board decisions for the company. He brings 45 years’ experience in a wide range of financial roles and is responsible for ensuring that corporate governance and financial reporting processes are in place to support growth.
With significant experience in business start-ups, corporate acquisitions, and disposals, John previously worked as Partner in a chartered accountancy firm for 14 years and as Finance Director, Financial Consultant, or Non-Executive Director in a variety of businesses for 20 years. Adjacent to his current role at The Sirius Hotel Group, he is a Non-Executive Director of Millard Estates Limited and Grove End Housing Limited.
John holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Exeter. He is a FCA Chartered Accountant and ICAEW qualified.
Robert joined The Sirius Hotel Group as Non-Executive Director in October 2014. He brings significant experience in asset allocation, investment strategy, and investment management and plays a key role in strategic decision-making. Robert is also a Non-Executive Director of Western Heritable and sits on the Advisory Board of Mactaggart Family & Partners.
A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Robert was Chairman of DTZ Investment Management, which he founded in 1993, and Chairman of DTZ UK. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of GCP Student Living plc and Standard Life Property Income Trust Limited. He also chairs several Investment Committees for property funds.
Prior to this, Robert was Global President of RICS, a Member of the Bank of England Property Advisory Group, and Surveyor to the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers. He holds a degree in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge.
David joined The Sirius Hotel Group as Strategic Advisor for Growth and Expansion in 2021. He is responsible for advising and supporting the company’s senior leadership team, principally the CEO and CFO, in strategic growth, general commercial matters, and expansion opportunities. He plays a leading role in pursuing the company’s objectives, utilising his extensive contact network and wealth of industry knowledge that spans nearly 40 years.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, David joined CBRE Hotels in 2013 following the acquisition of TRI Hospitality Consulting, a leading boutique hotel consultancy firm, in which he was Deputy Managing Director and co-owner for 25 years. He is currently a Consultant Senior Advisor at CBRE Hotels, with previous roles there including Head of Client Solutions and Head of Consultancy Services. David has also worked as a Senior Consultant at HotStats.
David holds a DipMCIM from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a BSc in Hotel & Catering Administration from Bournemouth University.
Meet our Leadership Team
Elzbieta (Ela) is the Head of Finance, where she leads the company’s finance function with strategic oversight and operational excellence.
Prior to her role at The Sirius Hotel Group, Ela held senior finance leadership roles at Lamington Group and Melia Hotels International. At Melia, she played a pivotal role in supporting the Melia’s growth and expansion across the UK, overseeing multi-million-pound budgets and implementing robust financial controls that supported long-term development.
Ela is known for her ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and deliver strategic insights that influence executive decision-making. She has led multiple system implementations, including ERP transitions and automation initiatives, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Maria Curie – Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland, and is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
Jason joined The Sirius Hotel Group in September 2022, having previously held the same role at Sleeperz Hotels before its transition to Marriott International’s Four Points Flex by Sheraton. Jason has over 35 years of construction and development experience, managing the design, procurement, completion and ongoing property maintenance.
Much of this experience has been gained on city centre developments within challenging contractor environments, ranging from retirement homes to high-rise student accommodation and for the last 18 years hotel construction and refurbishment.
Most recently, Jason has been involved with successfully delivering The Resident Edinburgh in November 2024 and the rebranding of the Sleeperz portfolio to Four Points Flex by Sheraton in quick succession during 2025.
Jennifer Watts is our Head of People and Culture, leading the People team with a strong focus on building engaged teams and a positive workplace culture across our hotels.
Jen joined the business in 2016 as PA to the CEO and has since progressed into senior leadership roles, becoming HR Coordinator and Executive Assistant in 2018, Head of HR in 2020, and now Head of People and Culture. Her career progression reflects her deep understanding of the business and passion for people development.
With a strong background across hospitality, travel and education, Jen brings a broad perspective to her role. Having studied languages and spent much of her early career working and travelling, she has a genuine passion for people, cultures and exceptional guest experiences—values that sit at the heart of her people-first approach to hospitality.
Julia joined The Sirius Hotel Group in 2025 with over 25 years of experience in hotel marketing and communications.
Prior to her role, Julia was Head of Marketing at Hand Picked Hotels, a privately owned 21-hotel collection where she oversaw brand development, digital growth, content and PR.
She also has a wealth of broader hospitality marketing and communications knowledge within the sector, having worked in-house at Mint Hotels and Park Plaza (PPHE) and in-agency working across a number of upper-scale and luxury brands, including the Exclusive Collection, InterContinental – The O2, The Grove and De Vere.
At The Sirus Hotel Group, Julia leads brand development and audience growth and retention, with a particular focus on digital, loyalty, partnerships and reputation.
Yro has been with The Sirius Hotel Group since 2018, where she joined as General Manager of The Resident Covent Garden and earned the hotel its No. 1 Traveller’s Choice position on TripAdvisor.
Yro’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in the hotel sector – garnered from her time at The Resident Covent Garden and managerial roles with IHG, Melia Hotels and Marriott International – led her to take on the role of Head of Operations – London, at The Resident in 2020. Here, Yro overseas our Covent Garden, Soho and Victoria hotels and has an exceptional understanding of the market and knowing what it takes to nurture a team that can deliver first class guest experiences every day.
Yro studied Business Tourism Management in Athens, Greece and has an MSc in International Hotel Management from The University of Surrey and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology from The University of Liverpool.
Andrew joined The Sirius Hotel Group in 2012, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both independent boutique hotels and major hotel chains, spanning commercial and operational roles.
Andrew began his journey with the company as General Manager of The Resident Liverpool, which has been at the top of TripAdvisor in the city for over 15 years. He went on to project manage the openings of The Resident Victoria and The Resident Covent Garden, along with several property refurbishments and technical projects for the group.
Andrew currently oversees the Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties – located in Edinburgh, Dundee, Newcastle, and Cardiff – as well as The Resident Liverpool. He leads the operational teams across these sites, driving excellence at every stage of the guest journey and ensuring each property consistently delivers a high standard of hospitality in line with the brand values.
Andrew is also involved in supporting the development of the group, with a focus on growing the portfolio under the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand and leading the relationship with Marriott International.
